Planting Seeds with Curiosity

Abandoned by Fear

It's typical to stop a change we want to make because of the feelings that come up. We let the thought of change go. Working with career women who have made it an art to multi-task decision making that leads to change, it's easy to abandon the decision making altogether. It's easy to give up. It's easy to abandon ourselves. To put the act of stepping into change on the shelf. For when we are ready. For when we are ready to feel the fear that comes along with any change. Fear is married to change. Fear has a relationship with change. Of any kind.

The Ripple Effect

Who likes to feel the vibrations or any feelings that fear brings. Feelings are nothing more than vibrations. That's all. But boy we empower them so and let those vibrations dictate our decisions. Our actions or inactions. But it's easy to think that something will happen when we feel discomfort. But nothing "happens". Nothing happens to us. It's just a thought that we empower. What if instead of using the vibration of fear, we used the vibration of curiosity? What would it be to just be curious about the change we want to make or the change that is in front of us? Can you be curious about it?

The Art of Asking "What If?"

Can you allow yourself to just ask yourself the question "what if?" What if I made this change? Be curious about what would be on the other side of change. Can you be curious about it? Where would your life be with that change? What would you ULTIMATELY feel like with that change? Who would you meet with that change? What are possible opportunities that would come with that change? What is the worst thing that could happen to you with that change? And would you still survive? Is it really the worst thing? Be curious.

Staying Out of Outcomes

Write down all the curious questions you have on a sticky note. Put them on your vision board titled "change". Write down any answers that come from you being curious on those sticky notes. Spend time each day adding to your sticky note Change board. Just spend time with it. You have control if you want to start taking some of those sticky notes down when you are ready to let them go. Or to step into any of them. Stay out of results for now. Nothing needs to happen. You get to decide. Be curious. That's all for now. Decide ahead of time that you're going to have a great new day and week ahead. Be curious about it.
