How do I know if I'm ready to start coaching?
What Types of Services Do You Provide
Walk & Talk
Where Are Your Office Located?
I have Saturday office hours in North Hollywood, located at the La Maida Institute and Thursday office hours in Arcadia. Looking for more flexibility and privacy? How about working together online. Please see below for more information.
Why Coach On-Line?
Because you have 10 places to be during your day and why spend one of them meeting in an office when you can meet in the convenience and privacy of your own home, office or other location of your choice.
If you have a cell phone that’s really all you need. Want a virtual video call? Than Wi-Fi is all you need. If you feel more comfortable and want to travel to me, that can be arranged too.
What Is Coaching
Coaching is a process, not a to-do list. We look at exactly what’s going on in your life, and what you want to be different. We find out where you are now, and how you got there. We find out what you want to create, and what needs to change in order to make it happen.
Coaching puts you in the driver’s seat in your life. You will understand how to make your life better. It’s your personal process of becoming more, becoming better and creating exactly what you want.
How Does Coaching Work?
Respecting that lives are busy, you receive coaching calls in the comfort and privacy of your own home or office. a time that fits with your schedule. If you are more comfortable with a video call, I use the Zoom Virtual Platform. This offers you increased privacy and anonymity so you can feel completely open with no distractions which equal more effectiveness.
Some women who haven’t worked with a coach before don’t know what to expect on the call. Not to worry. I will do the work, just show up and be yourself.
What Is e-Coaching?
Ever wish, after talking with someone, you could just put your thoughts down on paper? Feel as though you are a natural writer? Do you walk away from a conversation thinking that you just weren’t able to say what you really wanted to? Through writing, you feel you are more effective in expressing your challenges and barriers. You seem to be more articulate in using the written word. To dig a bit deeper. I get it. Together, after an initial consultation call to identify your goals, we will work together through journaling and writing, 3 weeks out of each month. At week 4, we will do 1:1 coaching via online or phone to tie all our work together. You receive my coaching expertise in written form for you to always have to reflect back on as you need.
How Will You Work as My Coach?
I partner with you in an interactive and thought-provoking, creative process. This partnership is built on accountability and responsibility with you. Setting goals, having a vision for oneself is key but just as imperative is the ability to take small baby steps and be “in action” toward attaining your goals. Isn’t that the (accountability) partnership you want?
Our work is about helping you come up with options, possibilities, and opportunities where you can’t see any. Walk away with a new bag of tools and learn strategies that you can start using right away that help you make different choices now so you can stop blocking yourself from reaching your goals and getting what you want.
What is Your Style and Approach?
Why Do I Need a Coach?
Most of us struggle with self-sabotaging, self-limiting, and thoughts of doubt. And in doing so, we aren’t fully showing up for ourselves, stepping into a full life and getting the results we want to attain. Most of us have lived in our bodies so long we have lost objective perspective on who we are, what we have within to make our vision possible. The possibilities are limitless.
What is the Typical Length of Time You See a Client?
Each client is on their own individual journey, and we will always have an ongoing conversation as to when you feel ready to terminate. I do ask for a 3-month commitment because change takes time. Although we all want a quick fix, I’m not the person to hire for that. Consider making a commitment to invest time in you.
Coaching vs. Mental Health
Not Everyone Needs Therapy!
I know this may come as a shock given I had spent 20 years as a psychotherapist, but it’s true. Psychotherapy, by definition, is the use of psychological methods during regular personal interactions to help someone change something. Its goal is to improve a person’s well-being and mental health.
But, when there are no mental health issues at play, sometimes merely receiving and utilizing information and tools, along with some streamlined coaching, might be all you need to step into change.
Coaching: Focuses on the present and future (we deal with that past as it presents itself); Driven by goals & taking action; Coach and client collaborate on solutions and work together on equal footing; Asks “Where would you like to be and how can you get there?”; Contact between sessions expected (accountability and wins).
Therapy: Focused on dealing with the past; Driven by unresolved issues and feelings; Explores the root of the problem and offers an explanation; Asks, “How did that make you feel?”; Therapist is the “expert”; Contact between sessions for crisis and difficulties only.
