Uh Oh!
How do you let the mind think? Do you let it think terrible, critical, judgemental, less than flattering thoughts? you? About others? About your situation? Do you let it put you down, take credit away from you, give you some criticism? Perhaps it makes excuses to keep you playing small vs. playing big? You know what the mind needs don't you. A big dose of adult supervision! Here's where this picture comes in. Isn't she cute! But it looks to me like she got caught doing something that she wasn't supposed to be doing by an adult in charge. And I thought of you and me. We are cute too! Yes, you are! But as cute as you are, the mind can wander off and throw you all sorts of stuff. You need to catch it. To manage it. To hold it accountable. To stop it in its tracks when it throws a tantrum or dips into an area that the mind knows better not to stray in. That's what I work on in coaching with my clients. How to first know what thoughts they are actually thinking and that it's a choice to think them. Then learning about having the power to decide what they would choose to think instead. That's where the power comes from. The new habit that's really needed, even before figuring out the new thought habits they'd like to develop is thought management. And you're the manager. You are the supervisor. The mind needs a good dose of your supervision to be aware of what is coming your way. So you can choose to derail it. To stop it. To throw up a barrier toward it. To press the delete button. When you let the mind know there's a supervisor holding it accountable, watching those thoughts, it will start abiding by your boundaries and limitation you set. It will respond in time, to your consistent (CONSISTENT) expectation of what you chose to think instead. You can teach the mind to think kinder thoughts about you. To send a thought of self-love and self-care instead of self-loath. YOU ARE IN CHARGE - BE THE SUPERVISOR - that's a great Superpower to have! Need some tools on how to set some boundaries for that mind of yours who's taking you for a spin? I've got a gift for you that is FREE. My gift of 30-minutes to experience what it is like to be coached and create an action plan on working through the thought keeping you unclear as to where to start. On the call we will:
